The Basics

The Spring Creek Tavern is open 365 days a year for lunch and dinner, both dine in and take out (828.622.0187).

The centerpiece of the Tavern is a traditional Italian, wood-fired brick oven faced with vintage recycled bricks from the historic Hot Springs school site.

The renowned menu features specialty burgers, wraps, house made pizzas, salads, sides and appetizers.

The Tavern offers free Wi-Fi, live local entertainment and a bar area featuring a dozen beers on tap along with a large selection of bottled beer and wine.

Inside table service accommodates up to 44 guests. Outside the tavern, overlooking the Spring Creek, (Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Creek) is a large, heated dining and entertainment deck which seats up to 52 guests, and has new awnings and a stairway down to the creek.

Above the tavern is a three bedroom Inn and a private entrance from the main street.

History

Located in the center of the Hot Springs Historical District, directly on the Appalachian Trail, the Spring Creek Tavern & Inn is uniquely situated on the banks of a designated Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Creek known as Spring Creek.

Nestled amid the peaks of the Pisgah National forest, the recently renovated property, which was built in 1922, retains its original storefront with a recessed entry and double leaf doors.

The building once contained Hot Springs’ first telephone exchange above the general store where operators would shout out the window for the caller!
